Vision Board
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.8.3: Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, relative descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This project meets the standard because I had to create a narrative describing what my futures would be like. It was an imagined experience, which the standard also asks for us to develop in our narrative. In order to input what our imagined future would be like, we had to write it out detailed and in sequences.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project. (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - elaborate on life skills you can take out of this project)
From this assignment, I was able to learn more about myself. This project required for me to think about what I wanted to really do in a future and plan on my goals. Because of this project, I was able to think about what I really wanted to do and where I wanted to be in life. I was able to gain knowledge about things I haven't really thought about about myself.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects? (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - research skills, time management, etc…)
I could have done better on the essay where I had to write in first person about myself in the future. I didn't write a lengthy essay about myself in the future because I could not imagine myself actually achieving the goals I had planned for myself. I was half joking when I put that my motivation to life was cats. I think I could have taken this essay more seriously, since in the future essays will count as a serious grade and fooling around with an assignment could do major damage to my grade.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world? (outside of the classroom, particularly in today’s society) Make connections between the content and your life.
It is always good to have goals and to plan ahead of what you want to do in the future. Using the skill I have learned to plan out goals and such, I can use this to know what I want to do before I jump into a path I have not even wanted. This assignment taught me that goals and planning something out is better than walking into someplace without knowing what you want to do in life. In the future, I do not want to be stuck in my parents' house and do nothing with life. With this vision board, I have something I plan for myself to do.
