1) Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This assignment asked for me to create a brochure containing information about a colony. In the info, I had to include the reasons for their founding, hence #2 of the standard. I also included the religious aspects of my colony, which was Pennsylvania. That was #3 of the standard. I also made sure to include the physical surroundings of the colony, #1 of the standard.
2) Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project. (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - elaborate on life skills you can take out of this project
I learned exclusive facts about Pennsylvania. For example, I got to learn that Pennsylvania was founded by William Penn, and the colony was named Pennsylvania as a debut to Penn's father. I got to learn many more interesting facts about Pennsylvania.
3) Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects? (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - research skills, time management, etc..
I could have done better with being more descriptive about things. For instance, in the Resources section, I had written down ; In Pennsylvania, we have: Bountiful wild games, Lots of fresh berries, Beautiful, crisp fish, Delicious, rightly cooked pudding. Instead of being so vague about things, what kind of berries did they have? What wild game? What fish? What? Next time, I could do better researching and go into depth about that stuff.
4) How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today's society). Make connections between the content and you life.
In the future, if I decide to ever travel to Pennsylvania, I will know cool facts about the state in its colonial form. I could share facts with people and stuff. I learned how brochures work and how to make one, so later on I could make brochures for things.
