1) Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
The standard 8.EE.8.A asks of me to understand that two linear equations and two variables correspond to the point of intersection on a graph, because the point works for both equations. Standard 8.EE.8.C asks for me to solve a real world problem using two linear equations in two variables. This assignment was to come up with equations for two phone companies and see at what point it would cost the same. This correlates to the assignment, since I'm using two linear equations in two variables, while solving a real world problem.
2) What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
To complete this assignment, I had to work on a packet with the information of two fictional phone companies, Splint and Horizon Communications. I had to fill in tables and graphs. The questions were based on comparing the two companies based on their linear equations. After I finished the packet, I had to create the poster. I used the pieces of information of Splint and Horizon to put on the poster.

This assignment demonstrates that I understand standards 8.EE.8.A and 8.EE.8.C. I understand how to create linear equations. This assignment shows that I am capable of finding the point of intersection of two linear equations. This assignment also shows that I am capable of solving real world problems.
4) I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
I could have improved my assignment by making my poster look more presentable, since my poster was done hurriedly, the day before it was due. I think I could have put more effort into the poster, and not have rushed it at the end.
5) How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
In the real world, finding better costs for something will become helpful. For example, this project made us find when these two companies will become the same cost over time, and also made us find which company costed less. With skills like this, saving money will be easier in the future. It will be helpful to know what company would be cheaper than the other, in order to save money.
