1.What does seminary mean?
Seminary means to be balanced. If you can fold an object and have it match equally, it is balanced.
2.Provide an example of where in nature you can find symmetry. Why are objects symmetrical, what would be a benefit to being balanced/symmetrical as a human?
Something symmetrical in nature would be a starfish. Objects are symmetrical to keep balance. A benefit to being balanced as a human would be being able to walk properly. Without being symmetrical, we would walk around having a back ache.
3.Describe the process of creating a rectangular prism/cube. What did you do to plan prior to construction?
To create my rectangular prism, I created a blueprint. The measurements for the rectangles were 5x3 and the squares were 3x3.
4.What style of bonsai tree did you choose, and why did you pick that style?
I picked cascade, because when I was bending my wire, it happened to fold that way.
5.How would someone know which style of bonsai tree you created? What characteristics illustrate which type of tree style you created?
My tree's trunk stoops down, which indicates that it is cascade.
6.The media/materials that were used were: wire, cardboard, papier mache, tissue paper, paint, and scrap paper.Out of all the materials that we worked with, which one was the most challenging for you to work with. Why did you find that material more challenging than the others?
The most challenging was papier mache, because the color of the papier would dye my fingers because of the glue. It was also hard to stick on perfectly onto the wire.
7.How does your bonsai tree reflect personal choices that you made, and what makes your project unique to you?
This project is unique to me because of the flowers that stand on my tree. Also, I painted the pot of this bonsai tree like a galaxy-ish inspired thing, so that was cool.
